Implementing Dex Manager allowed Merck to improve security and save costs.

Merck is a leading science and technology company operating in the areas of Health Care, Life Sciences and Electronics. It has more than 350 years of history and its owners are still the descendants of Friedrich Jacob Merck, the man who founded it in Darmstadt, Germany in 1668.

Requirement

The Merck subsidiary in Argentina used an On Premise solution with screens professionals and required investing in the implementation of a new server applications to comply with internal IT policies, given that the previous one already It was reaching the end of its life cycle.

Solution

The implementation of Dex Cloud - being a cloud software solution (SaaS)- allowed the client to save the costs of the new server and reduce internal service costs. Dex Manager encrypts instructions between the server and the players, it also uses the secure protocol (HTTPS) for its communication and other security measures. To the safety and support of Azure, compliance with SaaS platform requirements is added approved by Merck. Additionally, the player software is compatible with WebOS which allowed the reuse of the screens already installed making the migration completely transparent for users.
